CleanTrip ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you use the CleanTrip mobile application.

We collect the following information when you create an account and use CleanTrip:

• Email address — used to create and authenticate your account
• Display name and profile photo — set voluntarily by you to personalize your profile
• Location data — used to find nearby stops and plan routes; only accessed when you actively use location features in the app
• Reviews and ratings — cleanliness scores, tags, notes, and photos you submit for stops
• Trip history — routes you plan and navigate using the app

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to operate and improve the CleanTrip service:

• To create and manage your account
• To display your reviews and profile to other users (if your profile is set to public)
• To show you nearby stops and plan routes based on your location
• To power the leaderboard and friends features
• To improve the accuracy and quality of stop data

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Your data may be shared in the following limited circumstances:

• With other users — your display name, profile photo, and reviews are visible to other users if your profile is set to public. You can set your profile to private in the app settings at any time.
• Service providers — we use Supabase for database and authentication services, and Google Maps APIs for location and mapping features. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies.
• Legal requirements — we may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of CleanTrip and its users.

Location Data

CleanTrip requests access to your device's location only when you use location-based features such as "Use My Location" or "Near Me" search. We do not track your location in the background and do not store precise location history beyond what is necessary to fulfill your in-app requests.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Reviews and trip data are stored indefinitely to maintain the integrity of the CleanTrip stop database. If you delete your account, your personal profile data will be removed. Reviews may be retained in anonymized form to preserve stop rating accuracy.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Update or correct your display name and profile photo at any time within the app
• Set your profile to private to limit visibility to other users
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us

Children's Privacy

CleanTrip is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission and secure authentication provided by Supabase. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of CleanTrip after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
